Beef Curtains? Oooooooooooh...
Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004 - 12:15 AM Work has perked up again after a week of our darkest days. I wrote a kick-ass article (if I do say so meself) about youth voter turnout, which should go up on the website sometime tonight. It's just a little bit partisan. Mostly it's an open letter to the mainstream media and the politicians and any other idiots out there who can't add. Trust me, if I can do the statistics, anyone can understand them. Laura Vanderkam can put that in her pipe and smoke it. (Hey, that would have been a good title for the article.) It's effing (the NOW buzzword of the week) cold here right now, and the temperature will probably continue to fall. My granny's heard rumors of snow, but I think the old lady is krunk. (Yeah, I used it.) Today I waited for the bus for almost an hour perched on a damp bench reading the Portable Beat Reader. It was 45 degrees, wind chill factor 39, and drizzling rain all day. Shiiiiiiiiiiii... We found this excellent new place to eat lunch. Cafe 1200. They make these huge sandwiches for only $5. They also have a soup counter, a salad bar, and a hot bar. You just load up your container, they weigh it, and you pay. Today I filled up on tuna and fruit salad. It was delish. This weekend will be spent polishing my resume and cover letter. Jason and I have no money for groceries again this week and it'd be really great if we didn't have to fast too far into the new year. What did Ghandi think about when he got hungry? Kourtney thinks Chili's and that's no good.
